The Tea Garden

Enchanting tea garden with antique cast iron table, vibrant Cordyline plants, and blooming Poinciana tree.

A slice of paradise awaits in the enchanting tea garden at the Sanctuary Estate!

Step into this serene retreat, where nature and timeless elegance converge. At its heart, a captivating antique cast iron table and chairs, brought all the way from India, stand proudly. These exquisite pieces showcase intricate details and motifs that whisper tales of a bygone age, creating a focal point as rich in history as it is in beauty. Surrounding this tranquil centerpiece are vibrant Cordyline plants, also known as Ti plants, chosen for their striking, colorful leaves that provide a breathtaking backdrop to the crisp white of the table and chairs.

Towering above, the majestic Royal Poinciana tree spreads its umbrella-like canopy, offering cool shade and tranquility. During April and May, this tree bursts into life, its branches adorned with fiery blooms of bright red and orange flowers, transforming the garden into a vibrant spectacle of color. Enhancing this natural artistry, a delicate Chinese hat vine climbs gracefully up the Royal Poinciana, weaving orange blossoms through its branches and adding yet another layer of beauty to the lush surroundings.

Beneath your feet, the base is adorned with beautiful clay tiles, their warm hues adding character and grounding to the garden. Yet, the pièce de résistance lies at the entrance: an intricately carved half-moon red sandstone step, inspired by the ornate temple thresholds of Sri Lanka. This stunning step, with its detailed craftsmanship, serves as a bridge between the natural beauty of the garden and the artistry of human hands—a true testament to design and tradition.

This tea garden is more than a place to relax; it’s an oasis of color, culture, and tranquility—a space where every detail tells a story and every corner invites serenity.
